Araliya Preschool is a Child Friendly Early Childhood Educational & Development Center.
SPECIAL NOTE:
The Preschool was handed over to the Dehiwala-Mt Lavinia Municipal Council on 31st July 2018 along with all the preschool equipment, play materials and also other electronic items including refrigerator, microwave oven, laptop computer, HP Lazer Jet printer, digital Camera and many other resources. Hence, since 01st of August 2018, the preschool management and operations done by Municipal Council and it is the primary responsible entity of the preschool . |

History and background
The center has been registered at the Preschool Unit of the Provincial Department of Education in Western Province. Araliya was established in 1980 as a milk feeding center and then developed as a preschool in 1982 at Jayasumanarama Road, Ratmalana. in 1980, this was the first preschool in the area and called as 'Gonakovila Preschool'.
Since 1980, all the administration expenses has been funded by Sri Lankas Barns Vänner (SLBV), our primary partner in Sweden. Since 2016, this project was managed by Learning for Life-S.R.C under Project Phaseout Development Plan 2017-2023.
