This is the first Star for Life Sri Lanka programme implemented in Western Province of Sri Lanka. And the third Star for Life school in Sri Lanka.
The project was officially launched on 25th January 2014 with presence of many local, Swedish and South African guests including the Provincial Director of Education (WP) Mr. P.N Ilapperuma, Assistant Director-Nonformal Education (WP) Mr. Mahinda Kodithuwakku.
The school is WP/KE/Kelani Maha Vidyalaya located near by the Ancient Buddhist Temple in Kelaniya (Kelani Raja Maha Viharaya).
The programme started in middle of 2013 with approval from Provincial Department of Education - Western Province. Since, the launch in January 2014 and the project was closed down by end of December 2023.
Swedish based multi-national company called 'Trelleborg AB' was the funding partner for this project through SLBV, our primary partner in Sweden.
