Nutrition for Life Programme implement by LFL-SRC

Our nutritional meal programme has received prompt attention as it addresses real needs in the community right now. Every day, we've seen the progress of children, particularly in their health as well as their behaviour.
As our team is now working on analysing the recently collected data against the baseline data, soon we can see the overall progress of the programme last year.

LFL-SRC engagement at the Community level together with Authorities

Following the information we received through the Divisional Child Development Committee and CRPO (Child Rights Promoting Officer) our project staff visited a child who has been living with many difficulties and low basic needs. We notice issues in the protection, nutrition, and well-being of the child.
Based on the information collected by our staff together with the CRPO of the Walallavita Divisional Secretariat, LFL-SRC is now looking forward to helping this child.
It is important to strengthen the Community-Based Child Protection System which can address these sorts of issues and facilitate children to access required services and support to fulfil their basic needs as well as essential materials for education, protection, and survival.

NFL Project at Kelani College:

Nutrition for Life project continues and the meal distribution has got the most attention. However, we keep track of pupils' attendance and collection of their meal packs every day.
Our Intern students from "Mid Sweden University" actively engage with our project work supporting our programme staff.

Establishment of the "Learning for Life - S.R.C." organization in Sri Lanka
04th January 2013

The idea of creating the organization "Learning for Life - S.R.C." was born in October 2012 as a discussion between Mr. Chathuranga Guruge and Ms. Christina Reddeback.
Mr. Guruge had a dream in many years to establish a local organization in Sri Lanka extending the service of his expertise in Child Rights Programming and Community Based Child Protection to the local communities and vulnerable children after he returned back from Australia.
During the time Mrs. Riddeback requested Mr. Chathuranga Guruge to take over Star for Life Sri Lanka programme and initiate its full phase of operation under a new organization and became the Country Manger of SFL SL.
The result of all these discussions and agreements were to establish and register  the LFL-SRC organization as a Non-Profit, Non-Government Organization in Sri Lanka during 2013. For this purpose, Mr. Guruge and Ms. Riddeback invited Mr. Bo Krigsman as well from Sweden to be a part of this.
