Support Child Clubs (CCs)
We closely work with Child Rights Promoting Officers (CRPOs) in the Divisional Secretariats and Divisional Child Club Forums where hundreds of children and young personal in more than 100 child clubs in Western Province of Sri Lanka, especially most needy, rural areas in the province.
Child Clubs are organized groups within a community that provides a space for children to come together, share their ideas, learn new skills, and participate in various activities. These clubs are designed to be safe environments where children can express themselves, build friendships, and develop important life skills. Mostly the club is supported and guided by an adult volunteer from the community as that provide the safety and security of the participated children. Key Features of Child Clubs:
Addition to those basic benefits, the child club is a safe space to explore their talents, discuss issues that affect them, and find possible solutions by themselves or through the support from the adults and the stakeholders. These clubs are often supported by non-government organizations those focus on empowering children through cultural events, campaigns, sports, life skills, and youth leadership. |
