Prevention of School Dropouts
- Community Based Child Protetcion approach -
Together with Palindanuwara Divisional Child Development Committee, Child Rights Promoting Officer as well as other official we are supporting to identified school dropouts and pupils who are at risk of being school dropouts and/or irregular school attendants.
Identified most common reasons for being victims of this scenario are low level of house hold economic status, live with singal perant, live with reletives (parents have abndant them or died). The children are identified through different sources such as through Grama Niladhari (Village Officer), Family Health Officers, Samurdhi Niladharis, village child development committees, civil society, etc by Child Rights Promoting Officer and the information again verified and communicate to the Officer of Non-Formal Education at respective Zonal Educational Department as well as to the respective schools.
We provide required school materials, statinalry, school uniforms and other requirements for the identified children to continue their "Compalsary Education" at School by re-enter to a school as back to school education or encourage for the regular attendants to schools with respect and adequate support.
We maintain close monitoring of each individual case through school management as well as through CROP.
This project is currantly funded by SLBV in Sweden together with 'Engelbrekt' funding.
LFL-SRC is maintain less than 15% of admin cost for implementing this project.
